ShazamFest, an NPO partially funded by Heritage Canada, has been organizing festivals in the Coaticook MRC for over 19 years, showcasing numerous artists from Quebec and beyond. It serves as a vital platform for local artists and boosts tourism, attracting over 3500 visitors, mainly from the Eastern Townships, with a significant portion coming from Quebec City and Montreal. Admission is free on Sunday and we anticipate an increased traffic with the shuttles we will be providing from Sherbrooke and Coaticook. About 30% of last year's attendees were first-timers, and our audience is diversifying and growing younger, with multi-generational families attending. We've introduced a membership program, garnering support from cultural NPOs and companies sharing our mission of uniting people through the arts while championing environmental and cultural diversity.
We'd like to invite you to partner with us on an advertising campaign to promote your services to our customers, volunteers and friends.
ShazamFest has become a major cultural event in our region, garnering nominations for best independent festival in Quebec in 2018 and 2023 at the GAMIQ. Set amidst a picturesque valley surrounded by woods and a river, its natural amphitheater provides a unique venue for celebration. Unlike other festivals, we offer wilderness camping, showers, local food, and a bar featuring beers and cider from our local microbrewery, Hop Station. Visitors can enjoy circus performances, giant puppets, tribal and burlesque dancers, and wrestling matches. ShazamFest caters to families with circus workshops, a pirate ship, a water slide, Olympics, discounted meals for kids, and themed evenings for teens, ensuring a memorable experience for all ages during this four-day carnival held annually on the second weekend in July.
With this in mind, ShazamFest is asking you to become a partner.
