Over the past 6 months, DVTR has been causing quite a stir in the Canadian punk scene, garnering glowing reviews, earning spots on best-of-2023 lists, selling out shows, and even snagging some coveted awards for their debut EP "BONJOUR" (Hello!). With a sound that falls somewhere between the B-52's and Jay Reatard, this French-speaking duo's unpredictable antics transcend language barriers, captivating audiences from Mexico to the UK. Their music is fast, raw, and unapologetic—repeating and driving home their message with relentless intensity. DVTR is not for the faint of heart; they're here to shake things up.

Excavation & Poésie and Plomberie join forces in a big band to bring you the renovation show! In the context of Bill 31, in a context where our right to lease assignment is being taken away, where the interests of landlords are being favoured and where we are told that all this is being done for our own good, what better way to celebrate than against the abusive practices of landlords supported by our favourite Caquist government.
In order to raise funds for a tenants' rights association, we invite you to dance to the musical repertoire of the two groups, arranged in a big band formula against renovictions.
That Handsome Devil
An American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, by way of Boston, Massachusetts. The band mixes genres such as rock, funk, jazz, jive, blues, surf, rhythm and blues, reggae, rockabilly, rap, and psychedelic. Their sound has also been described as "equal parts Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, bizarre electronica, creepy hip hop and in-your-face gonzo rock.
Howling through the streets in winds of tornadoing trash like a ghost of the city's restless soul. That Handsome Devil is a poltergeist lighting a bag of sh** on the doorstep of your mind, ringing the bell, and running away laughing.
Da Joint Doctor
An original at Shazam, Sasha has been spinning tunes at Shazam Farm since the mid-eighties. A true Sound System enthusiast, his education in reggae and dancehall began at a young age, influenced by his uncle, parents, and Jamaican friends. In 1988 and 89 Shazam was host to a reggae party with massive speakers and close to 200 jamaicans. For nearly 40 years Da Joint Doctor has been giving us that heavy bass. Get ready to get down with a massive dancehall, ragga and reggae vibes.
Kamendja
A world-rock instrumental band that fuses different musical styles such as polka, klezmer, tango and Arabic music with more modern styles like electro, dub, funk and jazz. In a festive, refined ambience, the band draws much of its inspiration from progressive rock to concoct their own unique style of mixed music.
Kickin' it Live Collective
Will E. Skandalz has been in and around the Hip Hop scene since the mid 90's, touring across north america & opening for many big name acts such as: M.O.P, Tha Alkaholiks, The Outlaws, Brother Ali, Young Money, Chuck Ice & E.W.A to name a few. Will Skanz also co-headlined tour(s). He also won various freestyle battles in Montreal & Ottawa.
Big Will E. is currently piecing together collective of rappers who are going to blow off the roof at the bar with some late night beats
Kirá Chao
It's hard to be clandestino, to escape comparison and make a name for yourself when you're Manu Chao's son... He has succeeded brilliantly, musically emancipating himself from his father, and drawing inspiration from the popular culture of his native Brazil, he brings a fresh breath to local folklore, skilfully blending North-Eastern rhythms and other South American influences. Between forró, baião, maracatu, salsa and cumbia, Kirá imposes his singular style. In this Latin fusion, he follows in the footsteps of Brazilian singers such as Tom Zé and Lénine, while inheriting the mangue beat. The influence of figures such as Chico Science and Zeca Baleiro are also palpable.

A trio of buddies from Trois-Rivières form a band that embodies the rebellious spirit of 90s punk and grunge. In the wrestling world, secrecy reigns supreme. This league of female wrestlers fighting against patriarchy, lays out the essential rules to follow in their "Lutte à l'Est's Comm Directives". Truth reigns, both inside and outside the ring. Wrestlers eschew roles, and disclosing secrets is taboo. Local wrestlers undergo rigorous training, while the staff keep the mystique alive. Exposing these secrets carries serious repercussions. Moronic Inferno is a punk-fueled power-trio from Montreal. Their sound is the result of an urban lifestyle; "From the overwhelming streets, to the comforting sheets“. A mix of hectic and soothing energy, they carry a trunk load of influences juggling from Jimi Hendrix, the Minutemen, Funkadelic and old-school Hip-Hop to the gnarlier attitude of 90's Punk.

Three years ago, at Mitchell Montcalm High School, Mate was born from the union of 5 friends with an avid passion for music. Their rock, jazz and folk compositions, in French and English, blend harmoniously with their onstage energy. Their intense chemistry brings to a boil the vibrant crowds of Quebec's underground scenes, and soon those of the rest of the world. They are soon to release their first French-language album, which will transform the musical landscape. Mate's impressionist portrait is shining through. Get ready for one hell of a set!

Filmmaker, musician, producer, DJ and music enthusiast, Mike Thifault hails from Montreal, Quebec. When not performing, he spends his time in the studio creating his own music… aided by over 3 decades of Djing and an upbringing in a very musically-influenced home. Having spent many years playing and creating Montreal’s local bar scene, holding multiple residencies, DJing special events, Mike has had a lot of time to develop his sound. For him, it’s all about musical journey’s, playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date. Don’t be surprised when you suddenly find yourself dancing!

In the context of Bill 31, where our rights are being trampled underfoot, let's celebrate together against these injustices. This unique collaboration promises an extraordinary musical and artistic experience, combining the talents and universes of two committed groups. Plomberie offers an original blend of instrumental music, with powerful horns and driving rhythms. Their performance, unique to each show, promises a vibrant spectacle. The important thing is that it grooves!
Rau_Ze
A duo made up of Rose Perron and Félix Paul, won the Francouvertes 2022. Their R&B and neo-soul music draws on a wide range of influences, from jazz and Y2K pop to hip-hop, funk and trip-hop. Their aim is to create music that is at once hard-hitting, danceable, deep and committed, exploring the twists and turns of everyday life with an authentic vocabulary. Accompanied on stage by Henri Bouchard (bass), Juan Espitia (drums) and Julien Fillion (saxophone), their performances are marked by a deep complicity and Rose's vocal versatility, immersing the audience in a balance between sweet bitterness and cathartic explosions.

ROTIN AND THE PRINCES
ROTIN is the musical duo of two girls, Rebecka Lussier and Karine Lizée, originally from Fontainebleau, a rock hub. In 2021, they joined forces with two musicians with a garage-rock musical background, Pierre-Marc Lavigne "Pierre-Premier" on bass and Claude Lacroix "Claude-De-La-Beauharnoise" on drums. Together, they form ROTIN AND THE PRINCES. Local media followed their journey, amplifying their fame. The open mics even attracted college students. With the arrival of Alicia, a talented bassist, the band reached its full potential.
